Between Ottawa and Montreal, we stopped at the Sand Wonders fest, in Gatineau, to admire sand sculptures. Several giant sand sculptures greeted us. The theme of the sand sculptures fest was CARNIVALS, and many international carnivals were represented there by sand artists. Here is the Rio Carnival:
Here is the Quebec Winter Carnival, with Bonhomme Carnaval and huskies:
There was even the Venice carnival, with masks:
Here is the Chinese carnival, with the huge pagoda and sand dragon, very impressive:
Everyone was welcome to create something special out of sand as well. It was so hot that day and people were happily creating sand sculptures and then refreshing themselves in water. Every year, the sand sculptures are different, so come and learn from the experts how to make sand sculptures and use your creativity to create your ephemeral sand masterpiece.
It’so good to relax your feet in the sand there! We recommend this sand sculpture festival to all families with kids.
